Our Teachers

Mari Storry

Hello! My name is Mari.

I am a native Japanese teacher from Osaka, Japan, and a qualified Japanese language teacher, teaching students from beginner to advanced levels. My lessons focus on practical and natural Japanese that students can use in real-life situations, while creating a friendly and supportive learning environment.

I teach conversation, grammar, JLPT preparation, travel Japanese, school support, and ATAR Japanese lessons tailored to each student’s goals.

I am also currently studying at university to become a Secondary School LOTE teacher, so I am familiar with middle and high school Japanese curriculum and educational practices, including ATAR Japanese preparation.

I look forward to helping you enjoy learning Japanese and gain confidence using the language!

Head of School /Japanese Teacher

Yuki Toriyama

Konnichiwa. I’m Yuki! It’s really nice to meet you.

I moved to Perth about a year ago, and I’ve absolutely loved getting to know this city and the people here. When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me watching anime, planning my next trip somewhere, playing around with new technology like AI, or getting a workout in at the gym. I also love heading out to bars for a drink with friends and going out for good food whenever I can.

Here’s something I think makes me a good fit as your teacher: I know exactly how it feels to learn a language from scratch. I’ve studied both Chinese and English, and I’m still learning them today. So I really understand how challenging it can be. I haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be a beginner. But learning languages has also given me so much.

Whether you’re getting ready for a trip to Japan or you simply want to feel confident having a real conversation, I’m here to help you reach your goals. And if this is your very first time studying Japanese, don’t worry at all. We’ll start with simple grammar and build up step by step, until you’re able to say what you really want to say.

I can’t wait to start this journey with you. Let’s have fun and learn together!

Hello! My name is Mika, and I’m from Chiba, Japan.
